When there is tension and poor leadership in place, the members of the lab are less concerned about getting the job done or are less productive in their dail.

Control of the lab is also important. This last category involves the manager staying on top of the member’s progress and ability. The lab manager needs to maintain control of every aspect of the workspace and evaluate members on a regular basis. When progress is lacking or problems arise, a good manager will be able to handle the situation and work effectively to get the project back on track. Maintaining control ensures the lab is able to stay on schedule and meet end goals.
